White Mountain Trail & Kancamagus Scenic Byways

Travel through the White Mountains in eastern New Hampshire, and you will experience some of the most beautiful scenery the region has to offer. Streams, waterfalls, and blue mountain lakes are just a few of the natural features you will see along the way. Leave yourself plenty of time to stop and take it all in. From the mountain overlooks and state parks, to the tourist attractions and outdoor opportunities, you could easily spend three days on the road, and still want more time to explore. Along with the drive, the two byways encompass White Mountain National Forest, offering plenty of camping, wildlife viewing, and downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as a variety of hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail.
