Loess Hills Scenic Byway

The Loess Hills Scenic Byway travels along the western border of Iowa in the Missouri River Valley. Start your trip in Akron, Iowa and travel south through the Loess Hills. The hills, made of large silt deposits left over from the last ice-age, offer beautiful scenery as well as wildlife, hiking, and camping opportunities.
